A training manual, co-developed by colleagues from EcoAgriculture Partners, is available for trainers of sustainable land management (SLM). It aims to help educators hold effective courses on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) from an integrated landscape management perspective.
According to EcoAgriculture Partners, the manual provides a curriculum for capacity building to support a landscape approach to SLM – eventually with impacts on agricultural productivity, ecological conservation and livelihood security as well as institutional strengthening outcomes.
The manual is expected to be used for example by those involved in TerrAfrica, a partnership led by the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) that is present in 24 countries to support innovative solutions to sustain landscapes, address land and water degradation and adapt to a changing climate.
Both EcoAgriculture Partners and TerrAfrica hosted sessions at the 2014 Global Landscapes Forum in Lima:
Advancing business engagement in a landscape approach (The Ministry of Economic Affairs of The Netherlands, The Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative (EcoAgriculture Partners), Rainforest Alliance, Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (HIVOS))
Building a global alliance for resilient landscapes (TerrAfrica, World Bank)
